DuMont Acquires Majority Stake in “Dreamlight”

DuMont’s regional media division has acquired a majority stake in Dreamlight Labs GmbH. Together with “Rausgegangen,” an integrated platform for communities and event formats is being created.

Cologne, August 4, 2026 – DuMont’s regional media division has acquired a majority stake in Dreamlight Labs GmbH, one of the fastest-growing companies in European live entertainment. Founded in 2024 and operating profitably, the company develops, produces, and markets its own event formats—ranging from anime concerts to true-crime shows and children’s events. Dreamlight is now active in more than 70 cities across five European countries and reaches several hundred thousand visitors.

With this majority stake, DuMont is strategically expanding its business focused on urban leisure culture and complementing “Rausgegangen,” the platform for leisure and event recommendations that has been part of DuMont’s regional media business since 2025.

Together, “Rausgegangen” and “Dreamlight” will create an integrated live experience platform: “Rausgegangen” brings an active community, broad reach, and an established network of organizers and venues. Dreamlight has the ability to identify cultural trends early on and translate them into viable (event) formats within a matter of weeks. This is made possible by its proprietary technology stack, data-driven testing, and the Dreamlight Marketing Engine, which was built specifically for event marketing.

“Dreamlight” will continue to exist as an independent company and brand. The founding and management team will continue to lead the company autonomously and retain a stake in it. The collaboration with “Rausgegangen” will focus on community building, marketing, and new formats.

“We founded Dreamlight to offer communities the experiences they’ve long been enjoying online: innovative events, implemented quickly, in their own language, and on their own stage,” says Valentin Huwer, CEO of Dreamlight Labs. Co-founder Philipp John adds: “With DuMont’s regional media business, we have a partner that understands this approach and offers us the reach and infrastructure to scale it further.”

Dr. Christoph Bauer, CEO of DuMont: “Dreamlight demonstrates how data, community, and speed can come together to form a standalone business model. Together with Rausgegangen, we’re creating a platform that combines content, experiences, and transactions within a single system. This strengthens our role as a provider of innovative digital products.”

Oliver Eckert, COO of DuMont and CEO of the regional media business, adds: “Rausgegangen has demonstrated how strongly urban communities respond to relevant and well-curated recommendations. With Dreamlight, we gain the ability to translate this attention even more effectively into our own formats and transactions. We are very much looking forward to this collaboration.”

The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.
